Antigua/ The beginning to an end...

Antigua is the old capital of Guatemala.
It's A very pitoresk city which has been extremely well preserved.
It has amazing views of the big volcanoes and you can see that the "Fuego" is still active.

Bye bye to all of you that have followed this blog and joined us in our journey.
Now It's back to the cold snowy mountains of Sweden;-)

See you soon/ Eric, Linda and William (the racker packer)

(Special thanx to Kenneth and los svaneros for their encouraging comments!!!!)

Santo Thomas

After searching for the hotel for more then 2 hours we finally arrived at a beautiful resort next to the beach. We grabbed something to eat and headed for the bed all exhausted.
The next day we had a wonderful morning in the sun by the pool... Then it was time to return to Guatemala City.

Merida and Belize City

From Playa del Carmen we traveled all the way to the capital of Yucatan, Merida. We spent two nights there.
There is museum for the yucatec music and they had a whole room dedicated to my ancestor Guty Cardenas. His story is quite remarkable and they have everything from his first curl of baby hair to the bullet that finally ended his life.

We spent New Years eve at Belize City a very slow town specially compared to Mexico or Guatemala. Here William has improved his swimming ability and he is now capable of swimming 15m without making an effort.
