Playa Del Carmen

A place packed of tourist from Sweden, USA, Italia etc. It is very expensive here and very hard to find a hotel, but it was nice to have a few hours on the beach before we went off to Merida.

Villa Maya

We stayed at a very nice hotel in the jungle. Outside you could see very colorful parrots, hummingbirds, snakes and all kinds of other animals.
The hotel was located at a lagoon in which you could find crocodiles. We did not see any for the first two days but just before we were about to leave to hotel was saw a few very close to where we were standing. I hope you can see it in the photo.

Tikal

This is one of the biggest archeological findings in our history. There is so much to tell about this place so I think it is better if the photographs can speak for themselves.

We want to wish all our family and friends a really merry Christmas and we hope that you all have had a good one with lots of presents and gifts, and a lot of Christmas food.

Lots of love from us!

Livingston

To get to Livingston you have no choice but to leave your car behind and take a boat trip.
Livingston is a place that has been a sort of refuge for African descendents who escaped from slavery in the islands of Caribbean ocean. They call themselves "Caifanes".

It's a very small place and has a Caribbean vibe. The hotel in which we lived offered a variaté consisting of drums and dancing, very interesting and charming.

Leaving Livingstone we took a trip to the "Siete Altares". A little waterfall all alone in the huge jungle. This place was really amazing and you really felt very close to nature. Unfortunately we had problems with our camera and lost all the photos of this wonderful place.

Guatemala City

Arriving at Guatemala city we were picked up by my mom. She had arranged for us to live at her place for one night and then to take a trip with her all the way to Merida by car.
We had a good night sleep and then we took off.

Family reunion

Today we met almost everyone in Erics family at a restaurant named Caballo Bayo. It was his grandmá, aunt, uncle, cousins, cousins children etc.
We had lovley Mexican food and mexican beers. It was really nice to see them all. William had a bit trouble understanding them all but they were all really happy to see him.

The last day in Acapulco

Our last day we spent at the house, practicing to swim and do dive. William is getting really good at swimming and Linda is finally learning how to dive. Eric is our teacher.
At Williams request we had dinner at The Planet Hollywood. It was the most expensive dinner on the whole week and it did not taste that good either. After that we headed home to get a good night sleep before we went back to Mexico City.

La Isla Roqueta

La Isla Roqueta

Today we went on a trip to an island named the Roqueta. The only way to get there is by boat. It is a short trip that only takes ten minutes if you want to take the fast lane, but there is another option and that was the one we choose.
The long trip consists of a kind of sightseeing on a glass-bottom boat where you can see all those wonderful fishes in nature’s different colours. For a while it felt like being in a gigantic aquarium. Well on the island we sunbathed, swam and had a snack. In fact the meal consisted of fresh shrimps grilled with garlic, delicious oysters in their own shell and William had some juice directly from an enormous coconut.
After a while William bought himself a big plastic shark which he then manoeuvred like a scared sailor on a dangerous tide.

See yah soon!!

Acapulco.

After 4 hours on the highway we have finally arrived to Acapulco!
It's strange to be here in the winter-time cause it's like 35°C outside.
William has been training on his swimming and has managed to swim 5m without sinking.
Linda has been sunbathing a lot to get her "ginger bread" tan. And I've been mostly reading books and relaxing in the shades.
The house you see on the pictures is were we stay. It belongs to my aunt and her family and they are kind enough too borow it to us.

We have had a hard time finding good hotspots for us to be able to update the blog but it should get better from now on.

Bienvenido a Mexico!

On our first day in Mexico we drove around the city to a Sanborns restaruant to have our first meal.

After that we went to Coyoacan and had a delicios coconut ice-cream in the sun. William thought it was the best ice-cream he had ever had!

Later that day we went to see Tita, my grandma'. She took us to eat at the Portal were we had some real mexican food...
